Volunteers

Mná Feasa recruits and train volunteers on an annual basis. This training covers topics including personal awareness, listening and communication skills. We also include some practical skills through role-playing and phone call scenarios. This introductory training programme prepares volunteers for their work in The Project in a wide range of work including:

• Staffing the help-line

• One-to-One Meetings

• Accompaniment Service

• Outreach Work

• Collating a record of material relating to domestic abuse

Mná Feasa encourages the volunteers to avail of ongoing personal training to support them to carry out the work with more of awareness about themselves and of the issues that can arise for the women. Personal awareness training also assists the volunteers to be fully present to the women who contact us for support.
