Volunteers

Mná Feasa recruits and trains volunteers on an annual basis. This training covers topics including personal awareness, listening and communication skills. We also include some practical skills through role-playing and phone call scenarios. This introductory training programme prepares volunteers for their work in Mná Feasa in a wide range of work including:

  • Staffing the help-line
  • One-to-One Meetings
  • Accompaniment Service
  • Outreach Work
  • Collating a record of material relating to domestic abuse

Mná Feasa provides regular professional supervision and also encourages volunteers to avail of ongoing personal development to support them to carry out the work. Personal development also assists the volunteers to be fully present to the women who contact us for support with more of awareness about themselves and of the issues that can arise for the women.
