Mná Feasa work with young people in Transition Year in secondary education to raise awareness of relationships, domestic violence and to help break the cycle of continued abuse. It is delivered to both male and female students. We are fortunate to be able to avail of the facilitation and group work skills of members of Cork Men’s Action Group who co-facilitate the sessions.

Strategies that are used in this programme include:

• Debate

• Brainstorming

• Challenging preconceptions,

• Identifying unacceptable behaviour

• Exploring Relationships/ healthy and unhealthy

• Discussing Safety issues

• Provide clear information about domestic violence and how abuse is experienced

The numbers reached by this intervention programme each year are in excess 500. This figure includes a number of groups who asked us to speak to their staff and a number of students at third level institutions.
